um... why won't kiri play nice???

As I said, I have finished two repeats on my kiri shawl. It's going well, got used to the pattern and yarn, looks great. I'm in love with KSH, like the subtle pattern of the shawl. However now I am starting my 3rd repeat and when I hit the middle where the 1 knit stitch down the middle is SUPPOSED TO BE, I have 3 extra stitches!!! I've ripped it out 3 times, I have counted my stitches, they are perfect, I checked the last row, everything is correct. I have no idea what is going on, I know it's not a pattern error or else I would have had this issue when I started my second 10 row repeat. gah!!!
