yarn porn ahead!
with a title like that i wonder what it's going to do to my google stats... :)
my hubby and i went off today on an adventure. stop #1 - needlework unlimited, my favorite yarn store evah!
i exchanged five of my 13 hanks of surgery bouquet koigu, for 5 hanks of GREEN koigu! i have been unable to stop thinking about this color since i saw it on my last NU visit, i LOVE IT! i was so afraid that it would be gone by the time i made it back to the store again but it as you can see, they still had it! yea!!!
isn't it gorgeous???
i love it so much and all of my yarn is pinks/purples/blues and no greens! i'm so excited!
it is potentially going to grow up to be a koigu gypsy shawl. but... it may become something else. i love the shawl that eyeleen made over at knitting by eye. thanks to eyeleen for the e-mail on where to find it, and i now have the pattern! (from weekend knitting). i am also absolutely in love with the shadow shawl. apparently this shawl is taking the twin cities by storm (though i wouldn't know it as i don't knit with others, i would like to but it hasn't worked out yet). right now needlework unlimited is having a shadow knitting trunk show. they had one of the shadow shawls lying out on their couch and i tried it on. i LOVE it. i wasn't sure from the pictures if i would like it or not. bummer, as i absolutely adore it and it may be quickly moving up my must knit list. i keep telling myself that it's a winter shawl and therefore i should make my summer/lace shawls first... we'll see how that works...
i also got this... my hubby convinced me that i needed it (as if i need any help!). i got two hanks. i intend to have it in a future charlotte (i would return one if that was the case), or maybe a pair of socks (which is why i got two, just in case)...
i also kicked some ass on my weeping willow shawl. look at it now!
and i haven't even worked on it today, this is from last night! i haven't ever done anything from a chart before so i started a little slow. now that i have my chart reading system down it's going much faster (metal cookie sheet with a ruler and magnets to hold it in place but easily move as i knit each row). yea me! i have to admit, i wasn't into it at first, but it's getting easier and easier with each row. and my mind must be up for the challenge after doing nothing for three weeks, i'm doing great so far, no major mistakes so far!

Thanks for your comments on my shawl. You've chosen beautiful skeins of Koigu! I can't wait to see what you do with it.
