new magknits!

i'm not as crazy about magknits as i am about knitty. sorry. :( but i did find these peekaboo mittens and i'm intrigued... i have some gorgeous blue cascade 220 that i'm dying to use for SOMETHING... i have always wanted to make some convertible mittens but just haven't. maybe these are a good alternative. what do you guys think?

i think they would be great for work. i wonder if i can make a little buttonhole like area for the thumb too, that would be awesome! then i could write outside and then cover back up... that's my biggest beef with the convertible mitten patterns, i need my thumb free too!

i like them! i understand about having to use both hands to flip up the other part and how that can be annoying. it's a good idea. you should make them.

Clever design. Adding a convertible thumb is a great idea. I knit at hockey rinks before games and I can't use standard convertibles either because of the thumb issue. I'm stuck with fingerless mitts, which are not warm enough once I put down the knitting. Go for it and let us know how it goes.

I feel the same way about Magknits, but those mittens are very cute.

Hey, that's my mitten pattern! I'm glad you like it. :) I've found that I can actually get my thumb out of the finger opening when needed - it's not the best for thumb-intensive tasks, but it works when you need that opposable thumb action just for a sec.
